2024 Mercedes-AMG A45 S - GYEON Infinite Ceramic Coating + Gyeon Rim Protection
This 2024 Mercedes-AMG A45 S came to our Southport studio for a ceramic coating quote. After discussing protection for the wheels and brake callipers alongside the paintwork, the owner chose a package combining paint refinement, GYEON Infinite Base Type 2 and wheels-off ceramic protection.
Assessing the Paintwork and Existing PPF
The paintwork was in good overall condition, with light swirls and wash marring to address before coating. Previous waxing had also left residue in several areas, requiring careful cleaning during preparation.
The front end and selected high-contact areas already had paint protection film installed. We assessed the exposed paintwork and existing film separately before beginning the refinement work.
Wheels-Off Ceramic Protection
Removing the wheels allowed us to thoroughly prepare the inner barrels and access the brake calipers.
Each wheel was cleaned, dried and degreased with GYEON Q²M Prep before receiving GYEON Q² Rim ceramic coating. The brake calipers were also prepared and coated.
This extended the package beyond the bodywork, with a focus on making the wheels and calipers easier to maintain through regular cleaning.
Refining the Finish
Machine polishing addressed the light swirls and wash marring, followed by a finishing stage with GYEON Q² Primer to refine the paintwork’s clarity and gloss.
On this A45 S, we also gave the existing PPF a light finishing pass with Primer to improve its presentation.
After polishing, we thoroughly degreased the surfaces to remove polishing oils and residue before coating.
GYEON Infinite Base Type 2
With preparation complete, we applied GYEON Infinite Base Type 2 as the paintwork’s ceramic protection.
The preparation and polishing brought out the clarity of the grey finish. The coating completed the package, with ongoing care and maintenance in mind.
24-Hour Indoor Initial Cure
After application, the A45 S remained inside our studio for a full 24-hour initial curing period before collection.
This kept the freshly coated vehicle sheltered from rain and outdoor exposure during the early curing stage.
The Finished A45 S
The finished car combined refined paintwork, carefully finished existing PPF, and freshly coated wheels and brake calipers.
From the grey bodywork to the intricate wheel details, the result reflected the preparation behind the coating.
