Although the vehicle presented extremely well, closer inspection revealed light wash marks and swirl marks that needed to be addressed before installing GYEON Infinite Base ceramic coating.

Although the vehicle presented extremely well, closer inspection revealed light wash marks and swirl marks that needed to be addressed before installing GYEON Infinite Base ceramic coating.

Ceramic coating is only as good as the surface underneath it. Before any polishing or coating takes place, the SL63 was thoroughly washed to remove dirt, dust and surface grime, allowing us to properly assess the condition of the paintwork.

From there, the paint was checked for bonded contamination and lightly decontaminated where required. With the surface clean, we could identify the light swirl marks and wash marks that weren't immediately obvious when the vehicle first arrived.

With the true condition of the paint established, we selected the appropriate machine-polishing combination to remove the light defects while refining the finish and increasing clarity and gloss.

The final polishing stage was completed using GYEON Q² Primer, an ultra-fine finishing polish designed specifically to prepare paintwork for ceramic coating. This final refinement helps maximise clarity and leaves the surface ready for the coating preparation process.

Before applying the coating, the paintwork was carefully degreased to remove polishing oils and remaining residue. This is an important part of professional coating preparation — the ceramic coating needs a clean, residue-free surface to achieve proper bonding and consistent performance.

Once preparation was complete, GYEON Infinite Base was installed panel by panel under controlled conditions inside our Southport studio.

Applying the coating isn't the end of the process. Once installed, the SL63 remained inside our controlled studio environment during its initial curing period, protected from rain, moisture and unpredictable weather.

This allows the freshly applied coating to begin curing under suitable conditions before the vehicle is returned to its owner. Where appropriate, collection arrangements can also be discussed for vehicles that will be driven directly into suitable dry garaging.
