Mercedes-AMG SL63 — GYEON Infinite Ceramic Coating

This Mercedes-AMG SL63 arrived at our Southport studio through a trusted referral. The owner had chosen Royal Automotive Care for ceramic protection instead of a dealership-applied treatment.

At first glance, the paintwork presented beautifully. Under closer inspection, however, light wash marks and swirls revealed an opportunity to refine the finish before installing GYEON Infinite Base.

Looking Beyond the First Impression

Preparation began with a thorough wash to remove surface dirt and grime, followed by targeted decontamination where required.

With the paintwork clean, we could assess the defects properly and choose a polishing approach suited to the vehicle’s condition. The aim was to address the light marks and improve clarity before protecting the finish.

Refining the Paintwork

Machine polishing addressed the wash marks and swirls, bringing greater clarity and gloss to the paintwork.

The final polishing stage used GYEON Q² Primer to refine the finish ahead of coating preparation. Each stage contributed to the surface we wanted to preserve beneath the ceramic protection.

Installing GYEON Infinite Base

Following polishing, the paintwork was carefully degreased to remove remaining oils and residue.

GYEON Infinite Base was then applied panel by panel inside our controlled Southport studio. By this point, the cleaning, correction and refinement had established the finish; the coating was the protection stage that followed.

Protected Through the Initial Cure

After application, the SL63 remained inside the studio for its initial curing period, sheltered from rain and changing weather conditions.

That care continued beyond the application itself, giving the freshly coated vehicle a controlled environment before handover.

Refined, Then Protected

This project demonstrates why a vehicle that already looks impressive can still benefit from careful preparation. Addressing the light defects first allowed us to refine the SL63’s paintwork before installing its GYEON Infinite Base protection.
